We argue strongly for policy and legislative reform that makes a real difference to the ways that the community can keep children safe from violation.
The Foundation was instrumental in the introduction of Cody’s Law in Victoria. The law is designed to steer the judiciary towards jailing offenders for much closer to the maximum 20 year term in the case of child homicide. Cody’s Law is named in honour of 5-year-old Cody Hutchings who died violently at the hands of his stepfather.
