Eric Bana hangs with Peter Pan and Tinkerbell at Eat Street

Hollywood actor Eric Bana and his wife Rebecca guest starred at Sofitel Melbourne’s ninth annual Eat Street inspiring guests to ‘suspend reality’ and immerse themselves in the childhood themed event in aid of the Australian Childhood Foundation.

The star of such hit films including local hit The Castle and tough guy blockbusters Troy, Munich and Black Hawk Down, exposed his softer side to pose with fairies and Peter Pan look alikes.

Eric Bana donated a ‘B’ necklace from his latest film ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ which was sold as part of the live auction and raised $5000.

Other auction items included a rare autographed Andre Rieu violin, plus specially created and donated items to ‘inspire your inner child’ from top designers such as Alice McCall, Life with Bird, Jodhi Meares, Sass & Bide, Gwendolynne, Richard Nylon and Mimco.

Attracting around 600 people, Eat Street 2008 showcased signature dishes and drinks from more than 20 of Victoria’s top restaurants, such as Cecconi’s, Circa The Prince, Fifteen Melbourne, Maha Bar & Grill, The Brasserie and Verge. Winery partners include Constellation Wines, Crittenden Estate Wines, Domaine Chandon Green Point, Fine Wine Partners, James Squire, Mezz Wines and Mionetto Wines.

Entertainment was provided by former John Farnham backing singers Lindsay Field and Lisa Edwards, with a special highlight dance performance by ballerinas from the Expose Dance School.

More than $90,000 was received by the Foundation from Eat Street which will go to our specialist counselling services for children devastated by abuse, family violence and neglect
