A Childhood Hero is an ordinary Australian who wants to make a real difference to Australia's most vulnerable children by making them feel special, loved and cared for.

That is why the Australian Childhood Foundation runs its Childhood Hero Day each year. Childhood Hero achieves its aim by celebrating the fun, innocence and importance of childhood. It also allows the Foundation to raise funds to provide specialist counseling services, trauma-based education to professionals working with children in our community, parenting seminars, regular research into the causes and consequences of child abuse, and to raise awareness of the impact of abuse, neglect and family violence on our children and community.
